Jim Parsons won the Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Comedy or Musical at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. The award was presented by fellow Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco. Parsons beat out competition from Steve Carell (The Office), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Matthew Morrison (Glee) and Thomas Jane (Hung) to win the award.
This is the actor’s first Golden Globe award. Parsons won an Emmy for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper at last year’s Emmy Awards. The Big Bang Theory, which was nominated in the Best Television Series – Comedy Or Musical category, lost out to Fox’s Glee.

Kaley couldn’t have a best reaction. She looks so bored at the beginning, like she expects ABaldwin or MMorrisson to win the award, then … “Oh my God, Jim Parsons!”, and she’s so blissfully happy. That’s truly heart-melting. Plus, he immediately heads towards her to hug her ; they’re so cute, those two.
As for Jim, he couldn’t deserve it more : a wonderful man, an amazing actor, and a nice way to stop all the Glee-craziness.
