Jim Parsons won the Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Comedy or Musical at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. The award was presented by fellow Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco. Parsons beat out competition from Steve Carell (The Office), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Matthew Morrison (Glee) and Thomas Jane (Hung) to win the award.
This is the actor’s first Golden Globe award. Parsons won an Emmy for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper at last year’s Emmy Awards. The Big Bang Theory, which was nominated in the Best Television Series – Comedy Or Musical category, lost out to Fox’s Glee.

Kaley couldn’t have a best reaction. She looks so bored at the beginning, like she expects ABaldwin or MMorrisson to win the award, then … “Oh my God, Jim Parsons!”, and she’s so blissfully happy. That’s truly heart-melting. Plus, he immediately heads towards her to hug her ; they’re so cute, those two.
As for Jim, he couldn’t deserve it more : a wonderful man, an amazing actor, and a nice way to stop all the Glee-craziness.

In a bit of a shocking twist, Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsonstook home the Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy for the second year in a row.
Parsons is hilarious as uber-geek Sheldon Cooper, but most Emmy insiders thought that Steve Carrell would be a shoo-in for his final season on The Office. Even Parsons seemed surprised, telling the audience, “I was assured by many people in my life that this wasn’t happening.” Carrell seemed to accept the loss gracefully, as he smiled and clapped for the winner.
After four straight early wins for Modern Family, Jim Parsons was the first winner of the night from another show. The other nominees in the category were Steve Carrell (The Office), Alec Baldwin (who is also a two-time winner for his role on 30 Rock), Louis C.K. (Louis), Matt LeBlanc (Episodes) and Parson’s Big Bang co-star Johnny Galecki.Bazinga Jim! You deserve it and i’m not crazy, my mother had me tested.
